He didn't precisely tell her go go back to the kitchen - he said "know your place", not explicitly in relation to her gender, and "I hate women like you", but yes, that's why it's quite hard to deny.

On the other hand, what makes me like to think he isn't quite that bad is that at the time he said that, he had quite literally just been stranded in icy cold for more than 48 hours with no food (and just about no coffee!) and a bleeding knife wound in his face after murdering the mother of the person he was trying to protect, only to then find out that said person seems to be stuck inside a locked cave where she will probably soon freeze to death, making it all for nought. He talks like a delusional lunatic lashing viciously out at everybody in that entire conversation - that's also where he rambles on about the journey through Hell and nonsensically throws all the blame for Mia's death on Phoenix - and in my headcanon that's because he is really just about to crack. Therefore, that comment is just whatever he could pull out to insult her and justify how much he hates her along with the rest of the world. It comes from some underlying chauvinism, of course, but I like to think that when he's not about to break it would manifest itself considerably less extremely.

Of course, that's partly just my infatuation with him trying to justify itself, but really, read that whole conversation and ask yourself if anything at all he says in it seems to have gone through any sort of rationality filter on the way from his brain to his mouth.
