Noooooo that would suck. Why even adapt the Culture if you're not going to get the ship names right?

Because Hollywood always misses the point. TBF, so did Elon Musk when appropriated a pair of Culture ship names for his barges, as if Special Circumstances wouldn't view him as being fairly near the top of the list to deal with as an obstacle to progress instead of an instrument of it. The Culture does not especially welcome capitalists or those who indulge in cults of personality.
