Assuming that (which isn't necessarily true), there are plenty of gay/queer women who enjoy slash, even the higher-rated stuff. It's not that odd.

...Especially if she's reading tame stuff, since in that case it's about the story or the relationship and not sex. Are people supposed to stick only to fiction that has relationships relevant to their sexual orientation? I don't get this.

Yes, but generally those people don't mind cocks considering they seek out and enjoy porn featuring lots of them.

I just think it's weird that someone would enjoy reading about boys getting gay with each other if they have such a terrible aversion to boyparts, regardless of their sexual orientation.

If you're reading stuff that has a low rating there are no boyparts to avert. There's plenty of slash out there that never gets to sex or, if it does, it's not graphic detail.

And even if it is more graphic, there are things that don't make it so strange for the reader i.e. detachment from the scenario (if it's a she, m/m isn't as weird as m/f), just blurring out the icky bits in the mind, etc. It may seem weird to you, but it's really not, and it's not unusual.
