We're all human, anon. We all make mistakes. Don't judge yourself as a bad person because of things you've said and done in the past. I'm fairly sure none of them are truly awful or you wouldn't be posting here. Just try to do better in future and extend some graciousness to the young 'uns who are behaving the way you did years ago.

Hope that helps? It's all too easy to spiral - I know that from personal experience.

And yes, redemption arcs are great.

Thank you so much for your kindness. I'm OK, I'm not wracked by guilt all the time or anything. I don't think I'm a bad person - just not completely good either. Almost no one is, and that has to be OK because that's what humans are like.

Just try to do better in future and extend some graciousness to the young 'uns who are behaving the way you did years ago.

I don't really think age has much to do with it though? The things I regret doing and saying, they weren't because I was young, they were because I was thoughtless or angry or selfish or just plain mean. The struggle with that never stops.

good person ==================== bad person is a spectrum, not a binary. Endpoints are very rare.
