lol, thanks for the catch, I meant until the end of S2. I thought it would have been a lot more impactful if the first time the audience saw him it was because he was showing Grogu his face too. I didn't like how he had to show his face in the episode right before that as well.

I thought it would have been a lot more impactful if the first time the audience saw him it was because he was showing Grogu his face too.

Yeah, this was my thought as well.

At the very least I wish they hadn't shown us his face in the scene in S1 where the droid helped him. They could have so easily shot this scene so we didn't see his face, without losing the impact. It felt like cheating, to me, that we got to see his face in a scenario where the only reason he consented to remove his helmet was because no person was there.

I'm ambivalent about the second time we see his face. What I liked about that scene is how acutely I felt like I should look away from the screen. I really felt the character's sacrifice in that scene, which I think was great. Whereas when he chooses to take his helmet off for Grogu to see his face, it's a lovely and very fitting moment, but it's not about sacrifice at that point. And I think even if he'd never taken his helmet off before that point, it still wouldn't have been about sacrifice, but about tenderness. And I love that; it feels extremely fitting for the story. But I also love the previous instance, where it is very much about sacrifice and changing priorities. So in the end I think I'd keep both scenes from S2, despite the fact that the first one does rob a bit o the impact from the second one.

But I'd definitely film the scene from the end of S1 differently, so the audience couldn't see his face.
