I love art on belly dancing veils! Saw one with a badass looking hamsa on it, would love to get something like that.

And yeah, dancing with them involves... dedication, depending on what kind of fabric and... what's it called, fabric grade? Pure silk is a bitch to dance with but it's so pretty when done right.

Yeah, the videos I'm watching are kind of distracting because they're just so much fun to WATCH that I forget that I'm supposed to be trying to do those motions myself. ;) But then again, when I actually try dancing, it's fun. Even if I suck.

I had some really nice light chiffon I'd intended to use, but since it's cosplay and I needed the color/pattern to be right and (long story short) synthetics are a pain to dye, I switched to some sheer cotton - and I finally got the pattern on it, but it's not as floaty. Sigh. Maybe I'll have one veil with the proper detailing for photos, another for trying to dance.

Interesting. Didn't realize different fabrics had their own challenges with dye. Hope it all works out!
