never discount the stress but honestly yeah it happens to all of us. I went from being able to easily ignore dumb things to being mad that they're somewhere near me as I aged, well before recession and pandemic stress.

I think some of it is retroactive self-shaming, like you remember being that young and stupid and wishing they knew what you know now, but they're young and haven't experienced what you have so they can't know better yet. You're mad that you feel shame that you were exactly that young and dumb and did dumb things at that age, so you try to push it off by wishing the kids would grow up and get on your level already. Happens to the best of us. Just pour yourself a drink of choice and be mad in private, don't take it out on them.

Aw Aaron and Claire! I've shilled them on here before because his "Don't worry about it!" approach to cooking has helped my depressed anxious ass so much. I'm not a good cook so I never know when I can substitute or leave out - so their channel is just perfect for me.

I'm the opposite. I couldn't stand most stupid shit people did when I was younger. I've mostly mellowed out, and as long as being aren't being shitty (as in, doxxing, harassing and threatening others), I tend to let a lot of things go.

I totally get this OP. Tenel Ka was awesome. I never even made it to Legacy, though. I quit at the end of New Jedi Order because of just how awful I thought it was. I just had no interest in what they were doing with the EU anymore.

There were always a lot of people in the book fandom who were not there because of Rand, so this definitely isn't a super uncommon opinion. One of the strengths of WOT is that it has a really deep bench of likable characters. It's not a series where the main hero takes up all of the screen time, or even most of the screen time.

With that said, I think there are a lot of really interesting things about Rand as a character. But unfortunately, none of them are on-screen at this point in the series.

I am making friends with the neighborhood crows by giving them peanuts and filling the birdbath with water, making sure they see me doing these things, and its working. They come to my fence at about 4:30 now and I bring a couple of handfuls of unsalted peanuts out for them. I place the peanuts on the fence (wide, wood privacy fence), and then retreat into the house or on the porch. Today the crows were about 3 feet from me as I placed the peanuts! I just think crows are neat is all, lol.

One of the circuits tripped at home so we need to get an electrician out to fix the underlying problem (as it involves external wiring) and I'm seriously on edge, because we've had a (small) electrical fire before. Obviously I've made everything as safe as I know how, but it's still really not fun trying to sleep.

Getting better at functioning in spite of back pain and stiffness. Got a lot done at work today, so yay.

Right now I'm laying in bed with a heating pad on my back and with my kitty at my feet. Watching Criminal Minds and playing on Flightrising.
