Got a remote job offer from one company and a second interview with a different one...
Re: Got a remote job offer from one company and a second interview with a different one...
I had a job interview this morning with a large furniture company as a Logistic Analyst. I must have did pretty well because they called me in the afternoon for a second interview with their manager tomorrow morning. The guy interviewing me said that their isn't much official training. It would be me jumping into the role with some minor guidance. I've not gotten a salary but the indeed post said $53,000.
I am unsure how to handle having an interview and needing to accept an offer or not. I went from no job offer for 100+ applications to two at once!
I definitely feel like I'd be more comfortable with the logistics coordinator job but it is also supposed to be a high stress job. And I am not sure which job would give me more opportunities in the future.

Since the furniture company said they don't have much training, I would ask them how do they know when an employee is doing well, is just okay, and when they're doing bad? What does that look like? What's the response from management (good and bad)? How is feedback given? etc.
Last, you mention that one is a high stress job. Is that something you're worried about? Do you have processes in place for how you deal with stress? What's turnover like in the high stress job? Why do they need an answer one day after they offered? For the no training job, do you do well with no guidance? Do you like that type of freedom? Or would you be fine in high stress if the job itself is highly structured? Try to make sure beyond the opportunities the jobs give you, you know how you yourself will deal with challenges, and that you can succeed knowing how you operate and how the jobs seems to operate.

(Anonymous) 2022-03-18 04:12 am (UTC)(link)Two - the analyst position sounds really interesting and (based on things you've said elsewhere in the thread) maybe a better fit for you. So I think it's definitely worth talking to them.
I mean hell, if worst comes to worst, you can always just accept the offer from the first company and then back out (as long as you haven't signed anything and have only given a verbal commitment). And if they don't like it, fuck em.

I had my second interview in the analyst role and am way more interested in it now. They said, they are trying to make their decision by next week.
