Re: What to do at home for back issues

Hot rice sock. I don't have a lot of back pain, but when I do, I heat up a sockful of rice in the microwave and then put that sock under where the worst of the pain is. The pressure of me lying on that sock-lump, plus the heat, usually really helps. Aspirin, of course, but that's my go-to pain med.

Pillows are always helpful for sleeping - prop yourself in a position where you can actually relax your limbs and not use them to hold you braced or in place. Might take a lot of pillows, might just take one. Very moderate and careful stretching and exercise, like walking or swimming, nothing excessive, just keep the blood moving.

Good luck! Hope it eases up.

Thanks. I doubt it is going to ease up without medical help seeing as I have three herniated discs. But I'm hoping I can at least not make it any worse and manage the pain until next week.
