Where was I being an asshole about it exactly? I said there’s nothing wrong with not knowing as long as you use the correct pronouns going forward? And yes actually, they’ve been very upfront about their pronouns, and have mentioned them several times. It’s not their fault that the “several Tik Toks and YouTube videos” aren’t those. But the thing I was talking about the most, is the that they put their pronouns in the channel descriptions. Which is always the place that most people look in the first place, so that’s why I said I’m surprised that people still don’t know. They’ve covered all their bases. And wearing fancy dress and heavy makeup doesn’t have anything to do with gender identity and pronouns, so that’s a bit bad faith to bring those up as some kind of indication.

I've never seen any videos of theirs. I just read their book because I saw it on Amazon and the summary sounded interesting. I don't know shit about every single author I read one book from, and it's frankly weird that we now expect people to.

Considering I said “I’m surprised more people don’t know this by now”; and not “literally everyone should know this by now”, I wasn’t talking about people who already know basically nothing about the author but their book like you. I was talking about people who are familiar with them, and watched their videos, considering I only brought up the videos and accounts. I find it weird you’re getting so defensive over something I never said.

Oh fuck, I did say something something else. While I did mean “I’m surprised more people don’t know by now”, that’s actually not what I said. Now I understand the reaction I’ve been getting to my comment, oof.
