If you aren't aware, "weeb" is a shortening of "weeaboo". "Weeaboo" was the output of a particular mid-2000s website's word-replacement filter, with the input word being "Wapanese". As you might guess, "Wapanese" comes from smooshing together "white Japanese", and was specifically white-person-cringily-obessesed-with-Japan and super derogatory.

With the time since then, I think "weeb" has softened quite a bit in use, but that might depend on where in the internet you operate.
