Yes everything about Aiden Gillen is just....i didn't want him to win, but i did want him to keep talking in that voice.

I don't think Littlefinger is supposed to be charismatic or charming in the books (everyone and their mother thinks he's slimy as hell), I think he's supposed to be so obsequious that those used to power don't recognize that inauthenticity as dangerous to them. Obviously Aiden is going to read quite differently.

Getting cast as characters who aren't supposed to be that charismatic seems to happen a lot with Aiden Gillen (see also, The Wire)
