I've never met anyone else who knows this strip, but One Big Happy was like Family Circus but worse because it was just one gag over and over, the little girl asking her parents what a nonsense phrase meant until they figured out it was an idiom she'd misheard (one I recall in particular: "Mom, who's Marjorie and why does she rule?" "No sweetie, it's majority rules." They were all like that). The girl also had a really annoyingly drawn mouth, it always looked like she was yawning whenever she talked.

Foxtrot didn't run in my paper, but I remembered that time when it made internet news for making a joke about the then-new and trendy All Your Base Are Belong to Us meme, and misquoting it as Belonging to Us without realizing that was wrong. A few years later my paper picked up the strip and I always cringed at it.
