Oh man, I agree so hard. I love a lot of the TV that's being made today, but fuck I hate the whole trend with tv credits where it's either just a title card, or it's some long-ass, artsy, high-brow credits that are very moody and evocative and great to watch once, but then become pointless so you skip them every time thereafter.

Give me back my short, sweet, catchy-af credits that I can sing along or head-bang to, and that get me hyped for the show, damn it!

I mean, I get that fun, old-school credits might feel kind of jarring and tacked-on to a lot of the "high-brow" TV being made today (much of which I LOVE, for the record--this isn't an indictment of high-brow television). But IDK, I feel like there IS a way for the credits to do it all. I feel like it is in fact possible for credits to be nuanced in what they evoke, while simultaneously hyping up the viewer for the show. I mean, the True Blood credits were better than the show they were for, and also hypnotically compelling, so like, yeah, it can totally be done.

IMO, YMMV, etc.
