Not aromantic, but I also thought the abundance of overdramatic love songs in popular media (seriously, it feels like every song on earth is about relationships) was incredibly ridiculous. It was only after my first breakup that I realized how powerful those feelings can be, even if you're not naturally a very emotional person/your ex kind of objectively sucks, lol. Like literally one of my first thoughts after it happened was "Oh, I get why love songs are so popular now."
