125- Liking a character just because they're female is just as sexist as hating a character just because they're female. IMO.
146- Me too. There has to be a girl in there somewhere, or I'm just not interested.
148- Who the hell are you to declare an age limit on fandom? You may have cut some wonderful people off your flist, all because of your obvious ageist hangups. Just remember sweetie, someday you'll be thirty too.

(Seriously, I know some under-30 women with no cats, and some over-30 married and parental women on LJ who scare me with their fannish devotion FAR more than most of the over-30 singles I've friended. Why the generalization? There are assholes in every demographic.)

You're absolutely right. One of the many things I love about the internet is you're only as old as you act. I'd rather deal with a mature person I discover to be 30 in RL than an idiot I discover to be 16 in RL. As long as the conversation is good, who cares?
