Oh yes, that makes a lot of sense. I kind of hate how she went on focusing on being so intellectually curious and just really someone who's so smart that she doesn't always fit in to more of a popular girl. Also I feel like the way they did the transition really wasn't believable because yes I accept that she got more comfortable and sure of herself in Yale. Just the way that she treated people changed and it was hard to watch.

So I found it much harder to sympathize with her as she got farther from me. Lorelai at least kept all her foibles and acquired some new ones but she never did such a 180 at any point.

I don't know - going back to Christopher seemed to me a WTF? moment with regards to Lorelai. (But then again, I sort of found the entire last season eyebrow-scrunchy.)
