The relationship between Erik and Christine is unhealthy, but I don't think it's as bad as you make it out to be. Christine doesn't call Erik "Master" more than once, and she only calls him that because he is her music teacher. She refers to him as master to pay respect to her teacher who has completely mastered his subject. He calls Christine "child" because that's what she is. Christine is described in the novel and the musical as a child who never grew up.
Erik is obsessive and jealous, it's true, but he doesn't know any better. Erik has never been in a relationship before so he doesn't know how to act. The world showed no compassion to him, so he doesn't know how to show compassion to others. Erik is also a child in some senses; he never learned how to share or how to be selfless. Erik does definitely love Christine and if you don't realize that you didn't understand the story. He may say that Christine belongs to him, but by letting her go in the end he proves that he really does love her.
I love Raoul and I understand that R/C is a much healthier and happier paring, but E/C will always be my OTP. There's a love between Erik and Christine which is deeper and stronger than the bond between Raoul and Christine.

(My roommate and I were obsessed with "Bleak House" and Mr. Jarndyce in particular, and we had a series of arm-wrestling contests over which one of us would get to marry him, and I think she won in the end, but OH, I believe an icon of his fondly smiling visage would be a suitable consolation. *pants for breath*)
