151. TOS has a much stronger hold on the North American cultural imagination. It also did not have the revolving door cast like Doctor Who. While the new movie might become popular, I don't think that William Shatner needs to be worried about being replaced by another "definitive" Kirk.

Shatner will always be the Kirk for me. But I'm definitely willing to see how the new guy does. I want him to do well, in fact, because that means more awesome Star Trek.

I'm excited about the new movie too! Mostly I just want to see Bones again, as he is my favorite character out of all the series.

Even though, if they ever listened to him, the Enterprise would have been destroyed a dozen times.

Agreed. I like both shows, to be honest, and kinda like the idea of a crossover, but George, Mitchell and Annie are hardly smiteworthy. Herrick, on the other hand...

I do wonder if the OP's actually referring to Mitchell and the other vamps being destroyed, rather than all three of them...but even, that doesn't make me feel any more well-disposed towards it... :¬(

Maybe the poster just wants the cross-over, not for everyone wonderful to be smited. Because if s/he hated the characters, why watch the show? It's very much character-driven, so if you don't like the characters, you're effed.
