117 - I'm a boy, and I like slash. I don't like femslash because I don't generally like female characters in the fandoms that I'm involved in. So yeah, I consider myself a slash fan, but...I'm just honestly NOT interested in the characters.

124 - Why is everyone always SO CONCERNED about how PEOPLE IN THE INTARWEBZ will view them? If you honestly are interested in the community, why not join it?

128 - I don't necessarily get turned on by pornfic. I enjoy good writing, whether it's erotic or not. I don't think you're "doin it rong" or anything 8D

139 - I think that sketch is all right, but the Lumberjack Song is funnier. There's plenty of Monty Python that I think is kind of wtf and not as funny as anyone else thinks. :\

I don't generally like female characters in the fandoms that I'm involved in.

What fandoms are you in?

The ones I'm in most right now:

BLEACH
Naruto
Tales of the Abyss
DC Comics (mostly Batfamily; there are female characters I like here but no femslash pairings I'm really interested in)

I like a bunch of other stuff, like Watchmen and D.Gray-man, but I'm not actively involved in the fandoms at the moment.

Yeah, female characters in male-geared series written by men can be pretty boring and lame.

I say this as someone who generally doesn't identify with female characters, so it's not like I'm criticizing you -- I was just curious.

They can. They end up being kind of two-dimensional - especially in shonen manga. :\

Hey, no problem. You didn't come across as condescending or anything, so I don't mind.

I think if you have been in multiple fandoms and have never been interested in female characters as people, that's ... strange. And problematic.

Which isn't necessarily a judgment on you. Women are rarely fleshed out in the same way men are, in media. You have to pick up on a lot more subtleties and extrapolate in ways you never have to with the white male character who is always front and center. Maybe people just don't want to look deeper because the writers don't, but I think we should try.

There are a few of them that I like - just not many. Most of the female characters in shonen manga are pretty flat, in my opinion, and that's what I spend a lot of my time reading.

I like plenty of women in comics; I just don't ever really care about their romantic relationships with other women.
