151. Really? I know DW fandom has a lot of crazy, but it was through New Who that I got into Old Who and I made a bunch of really lovely friends. Because of one of my Old Who friends I rented the TOS DVDs and enjoyed them waaaaay more than I did as a kid.

As far as I'm concerned, the best thing that could happen because of the ST movie is new fen do a similar parallel to the DW fen and check out TOS. Also, I personally find the real TOS cast more attractive by far than the new ones.

But it's clear that you have a grudge, and I'm not even going to address your "we're geeks we don't need the pretty" because WTF?

I don't think the point was that Geeks don't like pretty. I think the point was that we don't need the pretty. Critical thinking skills and everything. It lets us enjoy things for the compelling stories and fleshed out characters.

Anyway, I do not get the Quinto or whatever love. His non-Spock eyebrows terrify me.

I think the new cast is just as pretty as the old cast - and also looks just as potentially brainy. There are a few of the actors I already like and I'm excited to see them melded with the 'verse I've watched for decades. (But I kind of know what you and the OP mean, too.)
