Basically, the "girl gamer" stereotype is any way someone can twist a girl's preferred games to make girls seem like prancing pink airheads. Epic fail.

Okay okay. I like JRPGs, so that's a given that I'm not a serious gamer. I also love Zelda, so obviously I'm in it for teh hawt bishie*, and pff, Metroid? Shit's wannabe Halo.**
And then there's my love of all games cute and cheerful! Hell, even my favourite M-rated game, Conker's Bad Fur Day, looks cute on the surface.
All that said, I have at least beaten Ecco the Dolphin.***
* Never mind that I'm asexual and find Link cute like a kitten if anything
** Halo is a fine enough game from what I hear, but yeah... I've seen this. Never mind that Samus can trace her lineage back to the NES...
*** This actually does command some respect in certain hardcore circles. Sure, it stars a dolphin of all sissy things, but the game itself is not a friendly one to players.

[Me, I used the ingame debug menu. Finally beat it as an adult a while back and am trying again on the Wii Virual Console version. All I have to say is TRILOBITES AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH)
