(Anonymous) 2022-04-14 01:40 am (UTC)(link)Batman TAS at least holds up better, and I have rewatched all of it more recently (I rewatch it every year actually). So at least one of the shows I loved as a kid wasn’t not as good as I thought it was then! Pretty much just that one out of basically every other cartoon I loved from my childhood in the 80-90s, but still!
And I actually have seen Wolverine and the X-Men already. I thought it was quite fun and well-done, and I liked it in spite of really not being a fan of Wolverine in any version of X-Men except maybe X-Men Evolution. Although it helps that Wolverine wasn’t always front and center in every plot line in Wolverine and the X-Men, despite what the title of the show would imply. It was rather restrained in that aspect compared to the comics and the movie adaptations.

(Anonymous) 2022-04-14 02:23 am (UTC)(link)BTAS is a timeless masterpiece. It really is so good and it's so unusual for children's media to hold up so well. (I'll also fight to defend Digimon!)
I know right? There's a lot going on in WATXM. It flows pretty well and features tons of characters. X-Men Evolution is my favorite of the X-Men cartoons, and I was resentful of the new show. Needless to say it won me over.

(Anonymous) 2022-04-14 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)Agreed completely on BTAS! I do like Digimon too! I haven’t seen all of 02, but I love the original Digimon Adventure! I really think that it still stands out to this day as far as kids anime goes as having a great story with terrific arcs and character development!
I adore X-Men Evolution! It’s probably my favorite version of several characters, especially Cyclops and Shadowcat! And it’s one of the few times I like Wolverine, like I said, because he actually seems as cool and mysterious to me as he’s supposed to be here! And I get being resentful of new entries in the same franchise that come after a fave version, I’ve felt that before. But WATXM is definitely good enough to win basically any X-Men fan over!

(Anonymous) 2022-04-14 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)Wolverine works best as a lone wolf angsty guy when he doesn't have a whole team of peers, so making him an adult and mentor was a stroke of genius.
