What are you watching currently (or reading)

What are you planning on watching or reading tonight?

I'm trying out Prehistoric Park. Just started episode one and already enjoying. They clearly had fun making this show.

Today I finally watched the last episode of Chucky, the TV show. It was amazing and one of the best series I've ever seen! Perfect hilarious camp horror with incredibily touching LGBT representation (the writer and creator of Chucky, Don Mancini, is openly gay). It's a direct sequels to the movies. Highly recommended to any Chucky fan!!!

Right now I'm watching Jujutsu Kaisen. I just started the second episode and I'm digging the premise, even if I suspect it'll be a pretty generic shounen in the long run. Still, I'm intrigued and the animation is awesome.
Anyone watching/reading Jujutsu Kaisen, here?

Moon Knight! I've been pleasantly surprised by how much I like it!

Watching: Our Flag Means Death.
I hate binging, so I do one episode every few days or so. It lets me absorb the characters and the plot. If I watch four episodes in one go, everything gets mixed up in my head.

Reading: Until Proven Safe: The History and Future of Quarantine
Very interesting read, especially since they had been researching for a while before covid cropped up, and then they got to experience it.

Our Flag Means Death is so, so good! It's one of those shows that definitely benefits from a slow watch because it has so many cool details and symbols. How are you liking it so far?

It's like watching fanfiction (affectionate) so it feels so comforting. Normally I don't watch open canon tv shows and spoil the crap out of myself before I watch anything, but I trust anything Taika is involved in not to disappoint me (I'm the Urban/Waititi anon above), so I've been avoiding spoilers for this one.

I just got done with episode 7, and showing that Jim has been referred to as "they" by people who knew them since childhood, just casually showing that is so awesome. No special focus or virtue signaling for Lucius and Black Pete, they're just there, being cute, treated like any other couple. Weaponizing that against toxic-masculinity-Izzy was so satisfying. Lucius ships Ed and Stede and so do I and I have no doubt they'll be canon and it's such a wonderful feeling. I'm just enjoying the ride, for once.

AYRT and I agree with everything you said. It's such a cute, comforting show, and so queer in a casual way. Like you said, characters are just there, being themselves, and it's amazing. I hope you enjoy the rest!

I just got home from Dual and am very "meh" about it. It was like 90 minutes long, and I still felt like I knew exactly what was going to happen based on the trailer.

SA - LMAO, I just saw you, philstar, said you would watch Karen Gillan in anything, so you might enjoy it more than I did. :D

Rewatching season 1 of Tiger & Bunny... since I don't have Netflix and can't see more of season 2... while making Kotetsu's season 2 jacket in a rush before ACen... because I am once again a complete fool for that incredibly stupid but endearing man. ;_;

I am currently watching the CW Nancy Drew show and.... it's actually surprisingly solid! It definitely has some of the CW soap opera DNA, but they keep it relatively grounded, the writing and characterization is solid, the mystery investigation stuff is interesting and good, and the characters are just really likable and well-drawn pretty much across the board. Also they're surprisingly willing to mix it up in terms of romantic relationships which is a lot of fun. I like it a lot more than I thought I would. I know some hardcore Nancy Drew fans have problems with it, because I know it's kind of a big deal in Nancy Drew that the supernatural is not real and this seems to be more or less the opposite in the TV show - the supernatural is treated as being basically real and there's a lot of horror elements to the show. But, well, it's a good show even if it isn't faithful.

And then what I'm planning on watching this weekend is the NBA playoffs because heck yeah it's playoff time.
