NAYRT but as a white person who avoids using spirit animal for the obvious reason, I don't think there's really a good succinct non-appropriating way that sums up the meaning. Like, "they're relatable" is probably closest but doesn't have the same feeling. Someone needs to come up with a way to say 'this person(thing) is me/I relate so hard' that rolls off the tongue better.

They're your avatar? Your player character? You kin them? The two of you were separated at birth? You were them in a past life? They're you from an alternate universe? They're the star of your autobiography? They played you in the movie? If I look you up in the dictionary I'll see their picture there?

DA - All of these are fun, but none of them quite capture the same thing that "X is my spirit animal" does.

It needs to say, "X embodies very specific aspects of my soul, manifest in reality within a separate entity," and it needs to say it in a way that is equal parts sincere and joking.
