SA Although, again this just comes back to my point. They're not aiming their extremism at any famous male actual transphobes are they? The whole thing smacks of misogynistic double standards. A repeat of a pattern you can see all throughout history. A woman steps out of a perceived line and it's threats and personal attacks.

What famous male transphobes do you have in mind, specifically?

The completely underwhelming response to Sean Penn's comments spring to mind. He may be an irrelevant has been but he's still famous and his comments were widely reported in international media. Where was any kind of outrage or demand for apology? Nothing. Even adjusting for scale, it's disproportionate.

Sean Penn has long been cancelled and is persona non grata among left-leaning circles anyway, so yeah, that's irrelevant. What's one more shitty thing ascribed to him at this point? Like, we're personally responsible for stopping his fame now? Have we been able to make JKR less famous?

How about Dave Chapelle? Did people not speak out against his transphobic comments enough for your liking? I get that it wasn't enough to undo his tremendous fame and wealth overnight, but guess what, that's never, ever been possible. Mel Gibson, Roman Polanski, Kevin Spacey are still rich af, and some of them committed actual crimes.

Your whataboutism and dogwhistling are shockingly obvious, and I'm disappointed people are taking you seriously just because you pretend to be an ally.

Do you actually want people to not be allies because they disagree with you? I am an ally. I have different opinions to you. There is a marked difference in the way people talk about Dave Chapelle and JKR and its rooted in misogyny. It's not whatabouttism to point out misogyny when it's relevant to the situation at hand, in this case the marked difference in treatment of male and female celebrities.

As for Dave Chapelle - that's a good example of my point, thank you. How many death and rape threats did he get I wonder.

Your “different opinion” is rooted in transphobia, so you’re not the ally you think you are. Trans people don’t feel supported by bad faith sealioning people like you.

Trans people also really hate the purity police who tries to prevent people from supporting them.

You’ve just proven you’re full of shit and only in this to be self-righteous and feel good about yourself. While not even doing the bare minimum an ally is supposed to do. That is, actually support trans people, and not be an apologist for transphobes who support people who want us dead and have our rights taken away.

That fact that you assumed I wasn’t trans and went straight for “purity police”, which didn’t fit anything I said, makes it clear you’re a bad faith actor.

And you don’t represent trans people at all, but you sure like to pretend you do. Allies are good, but allies who try to speak for and over trans people and argue against trans people when they don’t fit their narrow-minded narratives aren’t allies at all. They’re liars.

The thing about bigots is that they can be masters of subterfuge. Instead of saying that they hate brown people, they say that they support the less fortunate and pray for them BUT they're just rather concerned about "economic issues". In practice, what that means is they vote in politicians and laws that marginalize ethnic minorities.

You support trans people BUT you believe in facts and therefore think biology is important, blah blah blah. As always, everything before the BUT is bullshit, and you're not an ally and your nonsense is transparent.
