No, you let yourself hate female characters because you're disappointed that your interpretation of a single female character didn't work out right and you somehow believe that settling down is antithetical to her character (HINT: it isn't). Don't blame her, that's just evading responsibility. It's stupid to hate all female characters because you didn't like how one's story ended - especially when that ending is only contained in a dumbass sequel that's easily ignored anyway.

You know what, you're right. I had someone very close to me commit suicide and this is exactly what I took the whole deal to be like. I'm not expecting it, I just can't wrap my mind around how this is supposed to be "noble" and glorified.

You don't have to be able to, but don't judge other people because they don't see it your way. Maybe it has something to do with losing someone like that. If it bothers you a lot, you should talk to somebody.

I think I'll do it. I mean, it isn't like the stories are all about them, all the time. The one that features Cherry has her in the beginning, in the end, and some bits of the middle. Rest of the story is more focused on a character of the fandom.
