103 I didn't like it, but whatever. It's Kishi's story, not mine. I hope the suicide thing gets addressed, because she KNEW she couldn't win, but it was the only way she knew how to distract Pein from finishing off Naruto at that moment. (But now Naruto's life span has been like... *counts tails, number of times he's foxsploded...* uh, Naruto will be lucky to make it to his early thirties :/) I hope Neji finds Sakura and she heals her and then some hot yuri action oh god please pleaseeeee?.

Alsan made me feel safe as a child, even through a book. I guess it had something to do with religion, but I wasn't thinking about my faith in particular. Just that -a- God, something so powerful could be so caring and full of awesome was a comfort to me growing up. Joan of Arcadia ftw

119 I found her (and still Jack, therefore I thought them to be soul mates) annoying, but DAMN she got the short end of the stick. Lost writers are brutal at just picking off people.

129 I think it's not that he has no personality, it's that he rarely has serious (to some people) faults, and that makes him annoying or irritating. But they forget he's NOT human, he never will be, and what's zero personality to our perspective is forgetting he'll never have a genuine human personality that fits in. /ormaybei'mthinkingtoohard :C

129 No, you're not thinking too hard. Superman is an almost completely untouchable alien. Clark Kent tries to fit in and often realizes that he never really can while "Superman" stands in for all the parts of him that humans can't really understand.

I am still waiting for someone to write a fic where Superman develops MPD. But then in addition to Clark and Superman struggling, others develop from the stress too, a la Sybil. It could never happen because of what Superman is, but whatever.

I hope it's Sakura who asks 'what were you thinking?' because if anyone could understand Hinata's desperation in that moment, it would be her. Sakura RAN STRAIGHT AT Naruto in Kyuubi form, despite it being a stupid thing to do she was so broken up and didn't care about herself and wanted desperately to save him where she'd failed Sasuke, and the other time in the Chunnin exams where she felt so helpless trying to get Sasuke out of Scary Psycho Maniac mode. Plus in the Gaara fight, where she knew she could die defending her teammate, but stood with only a kunai between Gaara and Sasuke anyway. If Kishi bothered to spend more time on some of these characters, I think it'd be SO AWESOME if Sakura opened up her understanding of that bond, where others are disbelieving or disappointed (much like fandom), so Hinata wouldn't feel alone. And I think a talk like that would lead to Hinata taking final steps to being comfortable with herself as a ninja, because I don't think "only" nearly dying for a boy she loves from afar is good enough; there has to be some sort of closure for her. She deserves it, and I don't think it should be from Naruto because the poor boy has enough to deal with once this fight is over.

I agree, Kishimoto needs to spend more time developing those kinds of characters so the readers actually understand what drives them so we don't feel that such actions wouldn't have come out of nowhere. And more interaction from them! Not just off-scenes stuff or standing dumbly while other, more powerful characters show up. I know he drove himself into a hole for making so many characters in the series anyway, but damn, at least care about your "secondary" characters a little bit more.

Yes! I couldn't have said it better. And he made the mistake of making all these characters INTERESTING so I'd be whining to know more! *LeeHinataGaiSakuraKarinTamariGaaraNejiShinoeveryoneaghghghghghg*

I don't want him to just give like two panels to her after this. I want her to think about what this means for her now: that for blessing or curse, she stopped Pein from killing Naruto at the expense of herself... and Naruto dying even sooner, which I hope to GOD someone explains to her (hence again why I want Sakura there, b/c she totally would after knowing what it feels like to be out of the loop). I want her to see even if it was pure passion that drove her, she DID break her cycle of only watching, and I want her to see there's no going back completely to the shy, stuttering girl. Shyness will probably and CAN still be apart of her character, she doesn't need to become a fierce Amazon or anything, but I want Kishi to SHOW she's moving towards someone who can (maybe/hopefully with Neji because their family repair is adorable) change her world -- the clan -- and those who have suffered from it.
