Goodness... why do people like that show again...? That sounds positively revolting.

You don't think that television shows should make you feel strong emotions? Even revulsion? Do you only watch Care Bear reruns? The premise is objectionable. The people who wrote the Dollhouse secrets do realize that it is a creepy show with themes we are supposed to be up in arms about- that's why the 'aww' sentiments are SECRETS. The point is that you talk about it (after actually watching it, instead of judging based on second-hand, biased summaries). It's not supposed to be the kind of show that you just watch for the wacky high-jinks and your cute OTP.

Some people think portraying=condoning. However, people who aren't idiots understand you don't have to agree with everything characters do.

I don't think portraying=condoning, but I think that the average watcher just will not watch a show like this while thinking, "Oh, my, this is objectionable" the whole time. That is why I am weary of such shows - sure, everyone thinks it is objectionable when they first think about the premise, but during the second season?
Do you really think people will still be thinking about how the show makes you feel strong emotions and the premise is questionable and all the grey shades? Don't you think that the sheer pressure of show-reality will make it appear more and more normal the longer you watch and turn all those dark shades of grey into increasingly lighter shades so that around season 3, the fans don't really think about how the premise is questionable, but about the interactions of the characters and their cute OTP how their actions are cute and how they are slashable in spite of everything, because they have normalised what goes on in the series to such an extent that it does not matter anymore?
I think you overestimate the effect that wrong things have on people and underestimate the degree to which people are capable of normalising things which strike them as wrong at first.

It all depends on how the show is done, though, of course. From what I have heard, though, I don't see a reason to particularly overly optimistic. I'll watch it once it's released over here, though.
