That's a broad generalization that's quite unfair. Actually, I don't like Ruby this season because I think Gen is a bad actress. I enjoyed Katie as Ruby and had looked forward to more of her. I have enjoyed, most if, not all of the female characters on the show, including the ones whom have had romantic entanglements with the boys. Please, do not generalize or presume to know why "everyone" in fandom doesn't like a particular character or actress.

Uh, when did I say "everyone"? I said "fandom", and I stand by it. If the Supernatural fandom wants to stop being seen as being full of sexists, it's got a looooong way to go. Also, all the secrets accusing Ruby or other SPN female characters of being "slutty" (hint: there's more than ten.)

Had you wanted to imply some people in fandom you probably should have used the word some, instead of using the encompassing word fandom, which indicates the entirety of a single group. I know many people who enjoy this season's Ruby quite a bit, which completely negates the theory that fandom, as a whole, hates her.

However, some of fandom does hate her, but some of fandom doesn't. Most of the people I know who do not like her, feel that way because of her acting skills and not because she has a vagina. It has nothing to do with the fact that she's a woman, or a woman who happens to be sleeping with Sam and or Jared. It has to do with their lack of enjoyment of her acting skills. I don't know a single person who hates a character simply because of their sex and assuming that people only hate her because she has girl bits is a generalization, which was my entire point.

I don't dispute that some people in fandom are just ignorant, however, I do dispute that fandom, as a whole, is ignorant. The problem is that the ones who seem to make the most ignorant statements get the most attention, and it doesn't help when people who aren't ignorant make broad generalizations about a group as a whole.
