"There's no racism in science-fiction because they're not even human!"

FAIL.

Fail yourself. I did not say that. I do disagree that all aliens and other nonhumans are whatever race the actor who is playing them happens to be, or that a nonhuman who is pretending to be a black person actually is one; I think that's a load of crap, unless you're talking about Star Trek:TOS episodes where the analogy is clearly made and slaps you in the face because people couldn't write real-world stories about racism and get them on the air back then. (Amazingly, it is no longer 1966.)

Doesn't mean there's not racism in SF. Does mean that's not where I think it is. I have read a lot of arguments to the effect that a character is their actor.

IF this is the case, Nathan Petrelli is Iranian.

You are just really missing the point, then.

2. All stories are meant to make commentary on the world we live in. So when you say it doesn't matter what color the person's skin is, because it's all made-up, you're just being ignorant.

I don't know anything about Heroes, but I do know that Uriel *was* black. The writers chose to hire a black actor, chose to let that be who the fans saw as Uriel, so guess what? Uriel was black.

And I'm through wasting my time talking to ignorant people who don't want to learn. Have a nice privileged life.
