I hope not. Tumblr is firmly fandom for me. Then again, I don't use twitter at all. It is Facebook and Linkedin for RL stuff for me.

I'm waiting to see what he does with Twitter. If he requires users to post under their real names or if most of Black or liberal and/or left Twitter leaves I'm going to deactivate. Twitter is my last stop on the social media train.

Yeah, I deactivated mine in 2013 and haven't looked back. It seems to me a lot of misery and anger people experience online stem from Twitter, so I've never regretted my decision.

I saw somewhere on an RP comm over the weekend that a lot of twitter RPers are already talking about a mass exodus here to DW. Which, yay, fresh blood! Maybe fandom will join them! But also whew there's going to be some culture clash.

I only started visiting Twitter on a regular basis like two years ago and I almost never post or follow anyone, just browse trending topics to laugh at ridiculousness. So I guess I'm going the same places I went before, just not Twitter.

(Basically that's Facebook for RL folks and con friends, here for older friends and fandom, a couple of Discord servers run by people I know.)

I've been sick of twitter for a long time, now. I got my account in 2009 and it was still pretty cool back then. I just followed my friends and we had some pretty confused ongoing conversations about our favourite anime/manga and TVshows. People recommended stuff and we all began mentioning each other to share our thought. It was chaotic, but fun!
Then years passed and twitter got bigger and most of my friends began using the platform differently. Some became bitter and used it mainly to retweet about political and social issues and other completely quit their personal accounts and concentrated only on their public accounts to share their writings/music/arts. Nothing bad about the last part. I love that they do that and some of them have a pretty big following now and I'm very happy for them. I just miss the "before".

I got very tired of twitter as a whole in the last 5 years or so. I've had the app on my phone for a month I think and it was so addictive and full of negativity on my TL that I swore I'd never download it again. Haven't really posted in years, now. I post only during Eurovision because my friends are all online and we do a live tweet all together then.

The only good thing now are the fanart. I just use TweedDeck and I set out lists with all the artists I follow divided in different categories (1. fanart for my main fandom and ship 3. fanart for minor fandoms 2. various visual arts and crafts) and filter the content just by images. Doing that I can just look at the fanarts/art and not listen to what people have to say. Never been happier.

I will continue to use it as long as all my favourite artist are there. I really dislike Elon Musk, but at the moment I struggle to see how him acquiring twitter will change how I personally see and interact with the platform. As long as Tweetdeck is OK I'll just like&retweet cute stuff. I'm a little worried about twitter in general... but I'm worried about the internet in general so...

Ditto. I made my first Twitter account in 2008 and have used the platform actively ever since, and your last sentence summed up my thoughts.

Same, tbh. I curate my timeline so I only see the stuff I want to see, which is fannish stuff and cute animal pictures/videos.

Twitter for me is politics/news/space stuff, so...nowhere? My fandom lives on LJ/DW and AO3, so...I'm good.

I'm staying on twitter for the same reason people are still on tumblr> to actively bring the quality of the website down and making the owners lose money.

Who's Lonnie? Twitter won't tell me straight what's going on, only that something is and I should be very mad about it.
