Since my job sometimes has me doing nothing all day but handling support tickets, and those may or may not require much time to take care of, I sometimes manage to write between them. Obviously not a solution that many people can utilize, unfortunately.

(I'd vaguely worry about my employer checking on my activity since I'm at home but on a VPN, but 1: typing into notepad is not network activity that would arouse suspicion, 2: my boss not long ago during lockdown took a week's vacation and accidentally played WoW for the whole week on the VPN and no one noticed until he logged in the next week and confessed, so someone looked at the logs and confirmed the lulz, 3: when I was actually able to work in the office, my coworkers were constantly doing goofy stuff on the clock on their desktop machines and no one minded as long as things got done.)
