The problem wasn't that it had too few episodes. The problem is that the plotting was broken down into episodic format by two hacks who aren't very good at writing, and who could no longer copy from a series of books written by a professional author who, whether you like his writing or not, is undeniably competent at that kind of business. And who is now never going to actually finish the books so this is the only version of the story that we're ever going to see.
