Even when you agree with the sentiment behind something, hearing some shorthand/metaphor/slang phrase over and over again can be incredibly irritating. I'm so very tired of hearing about people 'breaking their silence', rather than just, you know, saying something.

Thanks, I feel better knowing I’m not the only one who gets like this! I’m sick of “breaking the silence” too, I’ve heard it so much in the last decade!

+1 It gets to be like fingernails on a chalkboard, even when I agree. It tends to make the original issue trite as well.
