When the fandom makes its shipping all about representation or diversity, in any or multiple ways. If they say their ship should have been canon because it would have been good representation, that it wasn't canon because the writers were homophobic, that they queerbaited by having the characters be friends and say nice things to each other. LGBTQ representation isn't all there is either. If fans of a het ship act like their ship is the most progressive ship that could happen in canon because at least one character isn't white (this happens most frequently with white man/WOC) and the only reason anyone would not ship it is racism.

Maybe I'm projecting a bit here because I just watched Arcane and then went looking at the fandom, but by god it isn't the first one to do all this.
