NAYRT

And about the route memorizing, down to the Starbucks they like to frequent to get decaf? That might have been information that some paparazzi or overly involved fan posted, but I sincerely doubt the celebrity in question posted the whole route to work or agreed to have it posted like they might for their address in something like an architectural magazine photoshoot. And I similarly have my doubts that the entire route was already mapped out in exhaustive detail just because some of the places involved might have been public record. Things that end up in public records aren’t always done with approval from the person in question, especially the more elaborate the mapping out is.

And lastly, their address may have been public and given willingly, but using Google Maps to explore their neighborhood is a different matter. It’s certainly not illegal, and I don’t even think it’s really wrong, people use that and Google Earth all the time. But it is a step further than looking for an address. And it’s definitely a step further from reading a gossip rag, as loathsome as those are. And as much as I don’t believe OP is an actual stalker at all, they are a step beyond people that read gossip rags and watch trashy celeb shows like TMZ.

And I know I mentioned the thing about OP knowing the exact Starbucks the celeb goes to, and I do think that’s also a step beyond just buying content or looking up basic information that was likely given willingly. But them knowing the celeb likes decaf is obviously not a big deal, is almost certainly something the celeb mentioned somewhere, and I only added it in to try to quote OP.

NAYRT - That's called "fun". Some enjoy using Streetview just because. If OP spread their knowledge or went to the Starbucks this celeb supposedly went to and tried to catch a picture of them, I would think badly of it. As it is, I don't, personally.

I’m not trying to say it’s wrong, but I certainly don’t personally get how it can be considered fun either. Anything can be called fun, but some things sound silly when objectively called “fun” in the persnickety way you did.
