Bold of you to assume the people who weren't pissy about the books being pulled from circulation wouldn't also be pissy about tweaking existing books to be less racist

But really, they weren't stopped because they were racist, they just weren't good sellers. Hence why you probably couldn't find anything on the bottom three. But by saying it was due to racism, the Seuss estate got to 1) score points with liberals and 2) make money off of racists who wanted to buy a copy before they were gone. Pretty smart!

(Note, I love If I Ran the Zoo. The bad stuff was racist caricatures of "Orientals", but certainly nothing like putting people in a zoo. It just didn't move enough product.)

The fact that anyone trying to get copies before they were gone was seen as racist bothered me. I wanted some because a few of them are childhood favorites and the rest, well, I just don’t like the idea of never being able to get a particular book. But I didn’t, because I don’t want to be a racist. Maybe I just don’t Get It, but I wish I wasn’t considered wrong and bad for wanting books.

It's not buying the books that gets you labeled a racist, it's bragging about it and why you're doing it.

Mulberry Street is very popular, though.
