I was really, really not impressed with this book (The Fault In Our Stars)

I thought this one (Deadline) did a WAY better job with the whole "Doomed Sick Person LoveStory" thing. Especially since it was utterly lacking in any of the irritating saccharinity of FIOS.

Interesting, I might put it on my TBR list. I can't stand it when illness is treated like 'here are some very special lessons for you to learn' instead of being a normal thing that can happen to anyone and people, or even just one individual person, can react to it in a variety of ways, so I usually just steer clear of the subject.

I HATED FIOS. The instant Gus was like "put the cigarette in your lips but don't light it, you take away its ability to kill you" I was like DUDE YOU STILL FINANCIALLY SUPPORTED THE CIGARETTE INDUSTRY YOU STUPID FUCK FUCK YOUR TEENAGE INSIGHT YOU’RE NOT DEEP FUCK YOU.
....ahem.
