Sadly, slightly sleazy assholes were considered sexy back in the eighties. I have no idea why we used to think that.

There are definitely still many people who consider sleazy assholes sexy.

I definitely do, but not the Bill Murray type so much.

Hopefully, you mostly find sleazy assholes hot in fiction? I know I do. But in real life, no.

I have sadly had to accept that both he and Chevy Chase are jerks. The internet legend about the clause in the sale of the Wu Tang album is fun, bit that's about it.

At least we have Steve Martin. If we had to have one guy who turned out to be not an asshole, I'm glad it's Steve.

In 2015 the Wu Tang Clan sold the only copy of their album Once Upon A Time In Shaolin to Martin Shkreli. However, one of the clauses of the contract (allegedly) provided that the album could be stolen back in a heist by members of the Clan and/or Bill Murray

I think he's an sexist asshole but I'm not sure I get the assaulter vibe off him. Now, Jim Belushi is another story and I'm sure he would have been exposed almost immediately.

This. Sexist, yes. Asshole, yes. And I personally can't stand any of his characters. But I'm not sure I think he's an assaulter.

People have known about Bill Murray being an asshole for a while now. I saw tidbits in the press over ten years ago. Everyone thinks Chevy Chase is an asshole too, but people forgive Bill because they like him better.

Pretty much. They're both assholes, but Chevy's a stuck up asshole so he gets more shit over it.

Facts people may not know: Chevy Chase plays piano & drums, and almost became Steely Dan's drummer.

That is a neat fact! It would be even cooler if it was for any band other than Steely Dan.

The reason I hate Chase is that because of him, I'll never get a movie about my favorite Scottish stories. He stole the motherfucking name of it, and then dragged it through the mud.

I guess Bill Murray will sometimes use being an asshole for good, when faced with a bigger asshole, like on the set of the Royal Tennenbaums, and I've never heard any stories about Chevy Chase being an asshole in anyone's... defense? So I guess the moral is if you're going to be an asshole, be an asshole that at least some people like working with... and hope your humor holds up enough for future generations of dudebros to put up with your ass.

Bill Murray's my least favorite Ghostbuster and Chevy Chase is my least favorite Amigo, and that's all I know.

Chevy Chase's assholeness in Community was pretty well known, enough that I heard about it, and I usually stay out of BTS stuff with shows I watch. Lots of issues with him.

Bill was definitely an asshole to Lucy Liu, so I wouldn’t be surprised that he’s just as bad to most. Chevy Chase is definitely an asshole to the supreme.

Ugh, major creep vibes. And dudebros that defend him because obviously he's being "funny" or because he's on the spectrum. He's not even that great, he does the same deadpan thing in most of his movies.

He does the same thing in most movies but he's really good at it. It sucks that he's apparently an IRL asshole but it doesn't make Groundhog Day not a good movie.

Not saying it's not a good movie, it's just repetitive. And I think a lot of actors could do a similar job, so I don't get his fanboys acting like he's some genius.
