That screams "mistake made by production assistant in a hurry" not "Gong Jun deliberately used my photo and said it was him for Reasons".

True. But that said, if I'd been living in hell for months and my co-worker and supposed 'good buddy' was just sitting back and cruising, I'd be pretty damn raw too.

Also, his statement implied that there were RPF tin-hatters using it as fuel for some kind of obnoxiousness, and y'know, sometimes you just gotta try and make things clear.

Yeah, I get that, with mixed feelings. It sort of depends on whether or not they were colleagues, or friends. A significant portion of the Chinese fandom is heavily invested in them being at least BFFs if not more but we don't really know what their relationship is like except to guess that it's not close on Gong Jun's part. I do think less of him for not speaking up or trying to curb his crazy fans (if they're responsible for any of this) but given the seriousness of the accusations and what it's done to ZZH's career, I could also understand if he was afraid to do so. It doesn't really excuse not reaching out in private, though - which would be a nice gesture even if ZZH was "just" a former co-worker he had a decent working relationship with and not a personal friend.
