Same. I’ve made that decision for myself since 2016 when I was having health problems(especially because the day before I made that decision, I had gone through hypertension) and I only wanted to engage with something fun and comforting, that I will only watch/read/play something depressing or troubling if I actually want to. And I pretty much never want to. And that’s okay, I’m completely fine with that. There’s nothing wrong with not wanting to engage with media you aren’t interested in. No matter how ~artistic~ something is. Or how much some may look down on me and others for choosing to stick to media we enjoy, instead of the more artistic and challenging media they consider objectively better. Or because they view the media we enjoy and prefer to spend our time with as something like “the media equivalent of cotton candy”, paraphrased from how that one secret OP’s friend put it while being a judgmental jerk.
