It's a novel-length original work with a fairly substantial number of hits and kudos, and it will come up near the top of the AO3 search results if someone searches for a novel-length original work with trans themes.

It's certainly not unthinkable that someone could be a bit fannish about it. Especially considering that, going by the premise, it seems likely to be...memorable, albeit in a deeply polarizing way.
