THIS
I do prefer darker media, but it must have some hope and lightness for me to feel emotions. A lot of darker media is just depressing for the sake of being depressing and it's exhausting and boring

DA Might I recommend James Gunn's Suicide Squad movie from last year? It's a dark comedy that didn't leave me feeling depressed.

Really? While I agree that there were a lot of quality jokes, that movie did NOT leave me feeling good at all. I was so disturbed by all the needless death and destruction (and what does James Gunn have against birds?) that I couldn't get to sleep without a REAL feel-good movie as a palate-cleanser (I think it was a Ghibli title, I don't remember).

Nayrt

But I totally get this. Your situation might not be exactly like mine, but I still understand. I’m just not a fan of dark comedies that involve a lot of onscreen death. Especially if it’s gory. At least with straight up horror I know how to anticipate these scenes so I can look away. But I find horror comedies, and general dark comedies with a lot of violence, a lot harder to predict. I know that’s the point, to keep the jokes unexpected, and thus funny. But I personally don’t find it funny to begin with. So I avoid things like that.

No hate or judgment to people who like these things though, I just have a low tolerance for this type of thing.
