I don’t disagree with the fact that they did it on purpose, I just don’t think it was good or necessary. It seems like you weren’t actually saying it was, and I misunderstood that part.

Before this specific trial, he already had a significant amount of people on his side. I’m not pretending everyone was, and that this case didn’t win some skeptics over. But it was amazing to see how many people went into this case almost seeming to know how it would turn out in his favor, before it actually did. And it has been very much in his favor ever since the first week, which is a good thing in my opinion. I wasn’t referring to him having the court of public opinion on his side before the UK trial though, my bad for poor phrasing. That wasn’t that long ago, but things were definitely more split before it.

Ah, I see. Perhaps it was due to leaked audio that was pretty damning to Amber Heard that people leaned Depp side.

Personally I couldn't stomach a lot of personal details and skiped, found that following the trial made me sad due to heavy subject matter and due to thinking of all the money spent on it. All in all I can see how the trial might be entertainnig for some people. It's like a celebrity reality show.
Also it could be cathartic for some of the DV survivors and triggering to others. The ones engaging with the topic obviously belong to the first group. I have to say my friendlist tags but doesn't warn for abuse.

I do think that played a major part of it.

That’s completely understandable. I have my opinions on it that make me keep up with the trial, but I don’t enjoy watching everything go down at the same time. It’s pretty...exhausting might be the word?

And you’re definitely right that it can be just as triggering for some as it is cathartic for others. I’m sorry to hear your friendslist doesn’t warn for abuse, that’s never good :/

Exhausting is exactly what it is.
