Could it be in part the result of overeager tag wrangling? Some of the stuff that get bunched together is a bit questionable at times.

Oh man, I've had the same problem-- there's one particular character who I find a fascinating target for fics that are either magical de-aging or a purely psychological regression, because after all his trauma I just want to see him get some actual good childhood experiences, but looking for that means having to dodge a LOT of abdl/erotic age play, which is a BIG Do Not Want for me. Really need to be different tag sets for sexual stuff.

Age Play and De-aging are different tags I believe.
