As someone who deleted a fic on AO3, sorry but I just...was feeling so insecure with my fic and I felt weird orphaning it because chances were I might one day get the urge to continue writing it. I just can't orphan my fics. Hits/interaction didn't really have as big of an influence with my decision to delete as one may think, but I don't think anyone was reading that fic to begin with so

I'm so sorry that fic was making you feel so stressed out.

(As a middle ground, where you keep control but it's not publicly available but also not entirely gone, you can create a private Collection, set it to Unrevealed, and hide anything you don't want public in there. I do that sometimes.)

Sorry you felt insecure, anon! That's not a nice a feeling. As I stated below, I'm not inherently against people deleting their fic (it's their writing, after all!), It does bum me the fuck out (whether I commented, kudo'd, bookmarked or not). But I understand not wanting to orphan a work either.

Here's hoping you feel more confident in your writing! And trust me, there's always /one/ person who's reading your fic :)
