I've recently seen several people on reddit talking about how amazing and formative it is/was for them so idk

(Anonymous) 2022-06-10 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it was formative for lots of people. Time and issues with the author and text coming to light can't change the way a piece of media affected people in the moment.

It is formative to a lot of regressive TERFs, I know that much. So that tells me all I need to know about MZB's books. God, but second wave feminism was such a mistake. It is nothing but redressed patriarchy.

I assume that you're trying to stir up shit, but MZB was a monster. The problems with her as a person can't really be attributed to what branch of feminism she belongs to.

Nonsense. Second wave feminism is the one that actually identified the patriarchy and all its tools. Speaking as one who was there. And no, not a TERF.
