My family will not stop pressuring me to do something I can’t do. I’m sick of it. I’m sick of trying to explain my health condition, I’m sick of everyone thinning I’m making things out worse than they are, I’m sick of everyone saying I’m being too careful. I could die if I go out to eat a restaurant with them. I can’t risk flying, crowds are a huge risk for me and have nearly killed me a few times, and I absolutely cannot be in someone’s home when they cook food I’m allergic to. It’s also nearly impossible for me to share space with someone safely. My husband and I have to go to extreme lengths to get through daily life. And my family literally tune me out when I tell them about it and then get on my case that I’m not visiting extended family (this year is my first chance in over twenty years) or that I won’t meet up at a restaurant with dad and his partner for dinner.

I'm sorry you're going through that. Having to deal with a health condition is hard enough without any extra pressure. Take care.

That is the legit worst. I have anaphylaxis, but I was never that sensitive- I've legit never kissed anyone for the longest time growing up because I could never trust that they hadn't eaten something recently that could cause a lethal reaction. But I was lucky that my family took it as seriously as they did, I'm actually furious to hear that yours are so completely ignorant to your actual life and safety like what the fuck? I'm so sorry that you have to go through that, allergies are so important to know about and it's baffling how too many people are still so oblivious, purposefully at that! Fuck 'em!
