I still kinda miss Czechoslovakia for no other reason that when I was like six years old, I could actually pronounce it, and thought I was so badass for being able to do so.

And then in high school we were learning about Southeast Asia in World History, and we had to do a report on a country. Rather than pick the Philippines (which would have made sense, seeing as I'm half-Filipino and research would have been as simple as "Hey Mom?"), I picked East Timor. Which at the time had been a country since approximately... last Wednesday.

I'm not quite a history buff, but I am apparently some sort of history smartass.

I have to admit to being someone who hadn't really heard much about Prussia, let alone what happened to it, before I read Hetalia. Now I'm very glad for reading and finding out more about its history, both in the comic and of my own accord, as sad as it is. (Just so you know, OP, Prussia is one of Hetalia's best loved characters ;)

I know about Prussia because I actually bothered to read about it, purely out of interest. Apparently the fact that I did this without being spurred on by a webcomic full of cute male characters makes me a total freak or something.

Also, I always loved Prussian military uniforms. It's one of the reasons Barry Lyndon is my favorite Stanley Kubrick film.

Hey Anon, a teacher showed my class the Wikipedia entry on Sealand while we were supposed to be learning about the Napoleonic Wars.

Imagine my shock when I realized Sealand actually had a nation-tan when getting into Hetalia. XD

This same teacher was also very interested in Prussian history. Hmmm...
